U.S. National Security Strategy reinforces pledge to pursue CTBT ratification

On 27 May 2010, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton presented the Obama Administration’s new National Security Strategy (NSS) at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC. Pages 23 and24 are dedicated to “Reverse the Spread of Nuclear and Biological Weapons and Secure Nuclear Materials.”

The NSS states: “We will pursue ratification of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty.”
