A staged reading of the play “Reykjavik”, followed by a panel discussion and reception, will be held at 18.30 on 27 September 2012 at the Baruch Performing Arts Center, 55 Lexington Avenue (25th Street), New York.
Written by Pulitzer Prize-winner Richard Rhodes, “Reykjavik” is a dramatic reconstruction of those two intense days of debate, drawing extensively on the actual transcripts of the Reykjavik meeting as well as on the memoirs of both Reagan and Gorbachev.
A panel discussion entitled ’25 years since Reykjavik – will we get it right in the next 25?‘ will follow the staged reading of the play. Mikhail Gorbachev will open the discussion with a video message from Moscow. The panelists include: Max Kampelman, Roald Sagdeev, Morton H. Halperin, Richard Rhodes, and Philip Taubman (moderator).
