On 10 December 2012, the European Union received the Nobel Peace Prize. To celebrate, the EU in Vienna hosted a well-attended high-level event. The EU’s voluntary contribution of €5 million to the CTBTO was also formalized. CTBTO Executive Secretary Tibor Tóth urged the rest of the world to adopt European concepts of shared security, integration and cooperation, in particular for dangerous technologies.

More on the EU voluntary contribution and the six elements it prioritizes in the 14 November press release by the CTBTO here.
