One would think the issue of nuclear testing would be a thing of the past. However, it makes sense for the U.S. Senate to finally ratify the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty.

“…It makes sense for the Senate to finally ratify this treaty (Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty), which today would be verifiable by means of technology, and which would provide a “legal regime” for handling any breaches in the future, to quote Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Rose E. Gottemoeller.”…Once in place, it would provide a framework for monitoring and applying pressure on states that might decide to violate it. That framework also would help the world better detect and monitor the nuclear ambitions of terrorists and other non-state actors.”
