On the 70th Anniversary of the Hiroshima bombing the Prime and Foreign Ministers of Japan speak out for the CTBT (CNN/The Japan Times)

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in his speech at the commemoration ceremony:

“At the end of August, the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Group of Eminent Persons meeting and the United Nations Conference on Disarmament Issues will convene here in Hiroshima, as will the G-7 foreign ministers’ meeting next year. Through these international meetings, we will send out our thoughts powerfully from an atomic bombing site as a message to the international community.” (The Japan Times)

Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida in a statement published by CNN:

“There will be a meeting of the CTBT Group of Eminent Persons this month and a meeting of G7 foreign ministers next April both in Hiroshima, where I hope to discuss all these issues.”
