Making Nuclear Arms Race Come to Its End (InDepth News)

Marking the 20th anniversary of the opening for signature of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT), ‘Youth for CTBTO’  member Anastasia Shavrova talks about the current influence of the Treaty and the stalemate in its ratification.

“The Treaty, regardless of many differences that arose among States during the negotiation process, “meets the demand of the great majority of the world’s people for a clear signal that the nuclear arms race is coming towards its end.””

Shavrova believes this year’s anniversary may be a turning point for the CTBT, but it is left in the hands of the international community.
